I recently tried and reviewed the Kristen Ess Weightless Shine Leave-In Conditioner (you can read about it here), and loved it so much that I wanted to explore the rest of what the brand had to offer. I was kindly sent several products that I selected from the range to try. I picked The One Purple Shampoo, Conditioner and Reconstructive Moisture Mask.
Kristen Ess haircare range contains a first-of-its-kind Zip-Up complex, which combines Kerabead microcapsules and conditioning ingredients like chia seeds, pea protein and marine algae to help strengthen and protect hair from damage. I colour my hair quite regularly and consider my hair to be quite damaged which leads it to be hard to style due to the frizz so I tend to tie it up most of the time. To find haircare that actually caters to coloured hair as well as restoring strength and shine would usually consist of using a combination of two shampoos, conditioner, treatments and sprays. There has been only one other purple shampoo that has worked extremely well for me in the past but the range doesn't extend to conditioners and other products and is much more expensive that Kristen Ess.
The One Purple shampoo and conditioner have a subtle luxe scent. Reminding me of the Kerastase Anti-Frizz range I have used in the past. The packaging is divine and expensive looking to say the least. It definitely makes the shower caddy more attractive. The bottles feels like a flexible silicone, making it easy to squeeze and dispense product from its nifty pop-up lid. The shampoo lathers up nicely and hair feels soft and cleansed after rinsing, even my scalp feels cleansed. The conditioner had a nice thick texture. I found that my hair looked shinier, felt smoother, and had fewer fly aways just after the first use. I also found my hair felt really clean like all the build up of product is gone which my hair normally doesn't feel like this with purple shampoo.
I always apply a hair mask at least once a week, sometimes twice depending on time. Some weigh my hair down and leaving flat and some work well. The Reconstructive Moisture Mask has a nice thick texture that is creamy and moisturising but lightweight. It softens and detangles hair without leaving it feeling heavy or flat. I love using this mask, I would have to say it is my current favourite hair mask. It leaves my hair feeling the same way as if I have just had a salon treatment, but at a fraction of the price. I have never been so impressed with a drugstore brand haircare like I have with this brand. I'm wanting to try more of Kristen Ess's haircare range and will be checking out Priceline on the other ranges on offer and will be writing my thoughts on those as well.
The One Purple Shampoo and Conditioner retails for $21.99 each and the Reconstructive Moisture Mask retails for $23.99. Kristen Ess is exclusive to Priceline. To purchase online or to find out more click here.
