My very first Bioré  product I used were the Pore Strips. That was over 10 years ago and they have been a staple in my bathroom cabinet ever since.  Bioré Skincare targets skin problems. Their products go straight to the source of those pesky pores for deeply clean, beautiful skin.

Charcoal is known for its oil-absorbing properties. It is so on-trend now that we are spoilt for choice in skin treatments. Bioré combines Charcoal with Salicylic Acid to treat existing acne and prevent future breakouts by cleaning deep down in your pores without over-drying. It is noted that Charcoal products are mainly for combination/oily skin, I have combination skin with my cheeks tend to be a little more on the drier side in Winter, but that doesn't mean charcoal products aren't suitable for me.  I still have an oily t-zone and I need products to help maintain my skin to prevent any further breakouts as well as regulating the oils on my t-zone.

Baking Soda is perfect for combination skin. It's beneficial properties help gently exfoliates, brightens, softens and cleans inflamed skin without irritation.

I was kindly gifted several products from their latest 'Charcoal and Baking Soda range'. My son and I have road-tested the entire range and below are my thoughts.

Charcoal Acne Clearing Cleanser - RRP $10.99
The newbie on the block.  The latest addition to the Bioré range. This cleanser has a transparent black thick consistency and lathers up when in contact with water. It contains Salicylic Acid and deeply cleanses pores and helps stop breakouts in just 2 days. It is oil free and dermatologist tested.  I used this cleanser for two weeks and my skin feels soft, cool and cleansed every time.  There is no drying or pulling of the skin. This is my favourite cleanser, I love the texture when cleansing.

Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser - RRP $10.99
This cleanser assists in drawing out trapped dirt and impurities in the skin. My son used this cleanser every day for two weeks. I found his skin to dramatically improve in texture and appearance. He's likes using this cleanser as he says that it makes his skin feel nice.

Charcoal Acne Scrub - RRP $9.99
My son and I used this twice a week.  The scrub colour and texture is thick and black and contains small exfoliating beads that is gentle and doesn't scratch the skin. When mixed with water and massaged on the face the colour changes to a white creamy consistency.  It feels really nice on the skin. I particularly noticed on my son's nose area the congestion had started to clear up within the first use.  As he is pre-teen his skin is starting to show signs of blocked pores and skin congestion so this worked well.

Baking Soda Acne Scrub - RRP $9.99
Also a new addition to the range, this scrub contains natural baking soda and is gentle, so there is no chance of over exfoliating as the baking soda dissolves into a cleanser after you scrub your face, removing impurities deep in the skin without leaving the skin tight or dry.  This scrub also contains Salicylic Acid and has a delicious fresh orange scent, opalescent in colour with orange beads.  I only used this scrub twice a week.  I did find it a little drying on the skin which I am fine with, my skin feels stimulated, clean and fresh.  I found my moisturiser was sitting better on my skin which is a big plus.

Charcoal Self-heating One Minute Mask - RRP $7.99
I absolutely love this product.  This self-heating masks reacts to the water on my skin. On contact, the mask begins to heat up whilst massaging on the skin.  At first it feels quite warm. The heat works to open up your pores, and after a minute of massaging it into your skin, you can wash it off with cool water to seal your pores. Your skin will feel tingly for about a minute afterwards, leaving you feeling completely refreshed. It's a fast and invigorating treatment for the skin.

Bioré Charcoal and Baking Soda range are so reasonably priced you can buy the entire range and alternate between them. My favourite part of this brand is the scent I love the freshness of it.

All Bioré products are available at Priceline and Chemist Warehouse.
