Clinique's Moisture Surge range continues to grow with it's latest addition and reformulated Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator gel creme.
The Moisture Surge Skincare range is suitable for all skin types regardless of age. It provides a big burst of hydration without causing skin problems, making it ideal for the spot-prone, the oily and the dehydrated alike. It is fragrance-free and allergy tested. It's pinky-peach packaging gives the impression of a gentle and soothing range.
Starting with the Moisture Surge Face Spray, this is a very good, hydrating spray. Perfect to take on board a plane to hydrate skin, use at the beach or even after the gym. It provides a heavy dose of hydration without the oil or heaviness of products. Skin feels soft and calm and hydrated. This was a lifesaver during Summer with the heat and humidity, the face spray was able to keep my skin cool and calm whether I was on public transport, in the office or out on the beach.
The Moisture Surge Overnight Mask is a lightweight creamy mask that you leave on your skin and sleep with. It may seem weird to sleep with product on your face but it actually dries nicely to a soft dewy feel and it won't transfer or smear all over the place. This mask is safe and gentle enough to use around the eyes.
The formula contains a good mix of emollients, plus water-binding agents and a range of antioxidants to infuse skin with hydration. When you wake up in the morning skin is exceptionally soft and plump giving skin a healthy look and feel. This mask can be used every night or how ever many times you want to use it. I used this twice a week.
The Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate is a water-gel hydrator that instantly quenches dehydrated skin. The Liquid-Sphere Technology combines water-binding ingredients with encapsulated antioxidants to help break the cycle of dryness and environmental stress that can lead to premature ageing.
I did find this product a little confusing as I wasn't sure if it was a serum or a moisturiser so I did some research and it is in fact a moisturiser or more of a top up which is perfect for an oily-combination skin as skin is left cool and hydrated without the oiliness. If you have skin more on the drier side I can't see why this product cannot be used as a serum underneath your moisturiser. This is also safe to use in the eye area which I love because my eye area does get dehydrated as well.
The 72-hour Auto-replenishing Gel Creme is the hero of the range. It has been reformulated to give skin the power to rehydrate itself. It claims to deliver a 152% instant moisture boost by keeping skin almost twice as hydrated at the end of the day than it did before, even after washing your face. It does this with it's Auto-Replenishing Technology that helps skin create its own internal water source to continually rehydrate itself. Then locks in all that moisture to provide skin with an endless plump, dewy, healthy-looking glow.
The new Auto-Replenishing Technology includes caffeine which helps trigger skin’s own rehydration system. Hyaluronic Acid fragments and Activated Aloe Water to plump skin with moisture. A matrix of humectants and polymers help reduce water loss and seal in moisture.
Such big claims so I put it to the test. My skin type is combination, even though I do have an oily t-zone my skin is always dehydrated. I expect this product to perform and it did just that. Bare in mind that this is not an anti-ageing moisturiser nor does it have SPF so you need to consider these if it is important to you. But saying that I used this moisturiser with my Vitamin A serum. At the end of the day I usually find my skin to have dehydration due to the air conditioning and I didn't experience this whilst using the Moisture Surge. The fine lines and wrinkles around my eyes and forehead that are usually more prominent towards the end of the day were almost non existent with my skin looking as fresh as it did in the morning.
Overall, I would say that this moisturiser and the Moisture Surge range has truly impressed me. A range that I would consider repurchasing.
