The Divine Company is a premium Australian beauty company that features a collection of products for skin, baby and personal. Based in Northern NSW, all their products are certified Organic and made in Australia.
I was kindly sent two items from their body range to road test and share my thoughts. The Naturally Bronze Gradual Tan and Exfoliating Body scrub. The gradual tan is 100% natural which helps to moisturise your skin, leaving it feeling nourished and looking naturally tanned. The tan is enriched with Aloe Vera, Shea Butter and Coconut Oil.
This isn't a fake tan application but a gradual tan product. The formula is designed to build colour gradually so it has a more natural appearance. With any tanning products whether it be gradual or instant, it is always recommended to exfoliate the skin for optimum results.
Exfoliating Body Scrub
Contains Aloe Vera and Shea Butter as well as Pumice and Walnut granules to exfoliate and moisturise the skin, eucalyptus and lime botanical extracts to nourish and refine the skin by eliminating dead and dry cells, leaving a polished surface. The scent reminds me of lemon myrtle, mmmm I love it.
The Exfoliating Body Scrub is not only used for prepping the skin for tanning but can also be used as an all round body exfoliant. Skin is left feeling soft and refreshed and the light and extremely pleasant.
It is recommended to use 24 hours in advance as preparation for Naturally Bronze Gradual Tanner to extend the life of your tan.
Naturally Bronze Gradual Tan
The tanning cream is naturally infused with Calendula and Rose Geranium extract. The scent is quite gentle and light on the skin with no chemical or fake smell to it.
Ideal for fair to medium skin tones, this beautiful gentle formula builds gradually ensuring an even and authentic glow. I found the formula to be very gentle on the skin and easy to apply and blend. There were no streaks or patches or stained hands. It is just like applying moisturiser. It is recommended to reapply every few days if you want a longer lasting tan. This is not an issue for me as I apply body moisturiser on a daily basis.
It takes around 6-8 hours after application for the full effect of the tan to develop. To achieve a darker shade of bronze, reapply after 24 hours.
I applied it all over my legs and arms over three days I notice the colour getting darker. I really like the colouring on my skin. It was natural looking and colour did not transfer onto any clothing or bedding.
After road-testing this product I could not get the right lighting in my images to show the before and after shots due to different time of the day and different lighting. I thought it would be more of an accurate result to only apply on one arm, as you can see in this photo. Gradual tan applied once and this is the result the following day. As you can see from the image the gradual deepening of my colour. It looks really natural.
Achieving that Winter Glow Skin
- Step 1 Prepare the skin by exfoliating it by using the Exfoliating Body scrub by Divine Company. You can use an exfoliating glove if you wish but to make things easier, I just simply applied on the scrub directly onto my skin and massaged it all over.
- Step 2 Apply the Gradual natural bronzer all over your legs, arms and body by ensuring you work off sections. Just like how you'd apply on your moisturiser, look to massage in the product using circular motions. Wait for about 6-8 hours for the tan to fully develop. Look to re-apply the Gradual Tan on daily in order to build on the colour if you wish. And it's that you re-apply every 3 days if you're wanting to maintain that sun-kissed glow.
- Step 3 Moisturising every morning and night with a body lotion is so important in order to keep your skin feeling nourished and hydrated.
