NATURAL SKINCARE THE WHOLE FAMILY CAN USE BY MOOGOO

MooGoo is an Australian natural skincare company. Their entire range is dedicated to making products with natural ingredients that are gentle enough for children and adults that target different skin issues.

I came across this brand quite a few years ago when I was fed up of skincare products for children not doing what they claim. I was introduced to MooGoo by a Pharmacist who swore by this brand as she used it on her kids and ever since then it's been part of our lives.

On recently I discovered that MooGoo also catered for adult skin, when I attended an intimate luncheon for MooGoo/DustyGirls at Porch & Parlour Cafe in North Bondi. They had a selection of products on display, most that I never knew existed!

Whilst nibbling on lunch and sipping on a fab cappuccino, the lovely girls from MooGoo gave us the run down on their range, their ingredients, uses and benefits.

I was really interested in their entire range of serums and oils.

In our goodie bags there was a range of products and was delighted to receive two of the serums I was seriously interested in. The 3 Vitamins Serum and Super Vitamin C Serum.

The Serums

Super Vitamin C Serum - RRP $34.90
For pigmentation and sun damaged skin.  Vitamin C serums work by helping the skin to naturally produce collagen and prevent free radical damage. Long term use improves the appearance of fine lines, fade pigment and repair sun damage.   Key ingredients are Ascobyl Tetraisopalmitate (Super Vitamin C), Natural Vitamin E and Olive Squalene.

This serum is more like an oil.  It has no fragrance or colouring.  On application, it may appear shiny and oily but after 30 seconds the skin completely absorbs the serum, leaving skin soft and smooth to touch.

3 Vitamins Serum - RRP $34.90
Mimics Sebum of Young skin + Potent Anti-Oxidants. Suitable for For dry, ageing skin. This serum contains 3 topical vitamins - Vitamin C, Natural Vitamin E and Pro Vitamin B5, as well as Olive Squalene and Jojoba Oil.  Similar ingredients to the Super Vitamin C serum plus added vitamin of B5 and Jojoba oil.

We all know what Vitamin E and C do for the skin but not much is said about Vitamin B5. I didn't know much about it until I researched it's benefits and was surprised that B5 is known as an “anti-stress vitamin. It's a natural humectant, making it a good hydrating ingredient, giving skin a soft and smooth appearance by penetrating into the lower skin layers for absorption by skin cells and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also has anti-inflammatory benefits, making it effective in relieving the persistent discomfort of eczema and other skin conditions.

This serum is also oil-like . Colouring is similar to Super Vitamin C and also has no fragrance. Applying this serum appear shiny at first with skin completely absorbing the serum, leaving skin soft and smooth to touch.

The Moisturisers

MooGoo have an extensive range of moisturisers for the hands, face and body.  I have a few here to share with you.

Anti-Bacterial Hand Moisturiser - RRP $9.90
Alcohol-based anti-bacterial gels are great for killing bacteria, but can dry and irritate the skin especially in children, but hand moisturisers and children just do not mix! MooGoo has come up with an ingenious natural hand product that kills bacterial as well as protecting the skin.

This hand moisturiser comes in a pump. Its consistency is between a lotion and anti-bacterial gel. It dispenses as milky yellow and once you spread the product it's disappears immediately.  It has a very clinical fragrance.  A milder scent of Dettol but an obvious scent of Tea Tree.

I am quite surprised how moisturising and lightweight it is. I always carry both hand sanitiser and hand moisturiser in my bag, at my desk at work as well as in the car. It contains a moisturising base of Aloe Vera, Vitamin E and 5 different essential oils, each targeting a different kind of bacteria.

Anti-Ageing Face Cream - RRP $34.95
This Anti-Ageing Cream is a perfect for sensitive or normal-to-dry skin. Using two powerful antioxidants, Resveratrol and Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate.  It is designed to improve the appearance and health of skin as well as reverse any environmental damage. The main base of the cream is made from Olive Squalene.  Squalane enhances skin elasticity and moisture retention and maintains the oil balance of young skin, in turn prevents lines forming.

As well as containing a long list of other antioxidants, this moisturiser is soothing on the skin.  The moisturiser comes in an airless pump to prevent any oxygen or bacteria entering the tube.  It has a medium consistency with a lightweight feel.

I normally have combination skin in the warmer months and more of a normal to dry skin in the winter months, so I found this moisturiser perfect.  I think this will be a bit heavy for my skin in Summer.  It keeps skin hydrated for longer and protected from the harsh winter elements as well as targeting anti-ageing.

Soothing MSM Moisturiser - RRP $17.95
I have been using this moisturiser on my son for almost two years now. Whether I use it on his face or body, it calms his skin of any irritation he is experiencing. I mainly use this in Winter when his skin is more irritated and dry.

This cream is made using the moisturising base of MooGoo's Full Cream Moisturiser with the removal of Milk Protein and the addition of 10% MSM (organic sulphur) a natural skin-soothing compound. Also contains Sweet Almond Oil as well as other natural skin healing ingredients, like Comfrey, Vitamin E, Aloe Vera and Honey.

I use this every night after my son's shower. I apply it all over his body including his face.  It's a very light cream that soaks in really quickly leaving the skin lovely and soft.   Since using this product my son has not experienced any dry patches or skin irritation that is usually brought on by the cold weather.

Full Cream Moisturiser - RRP $13.50
My skin goes through stages of sensitivity and there is very little that can be done to soothe the skin during this time other than leave skin bare with no products. This was my way of helping my skin recover when I was a lot younger but as my skin is now more dry than combination and not moisturising my skin will irritate it instead of help. The Full Cream moisturiser is perfect for skin that is easily irritated.

The base oil of the cream is Sweet Almond Oil, high in fatty acids that is perfect for troubled skin. Other included ingredients that also soothe the skin is raw coconut oil , honey (safe for babies), olive fruit oil, comfrey, aloe vera and Apple Cider Vinegar - to pH balanced the skin.

Shea Sorbet - RRP $17.95
This intense moisturising balm contains incredibly hydrating ingredients - Shea Butter and Coconut Oil to lock in moisture and nourish, Apple Cider Vinegar, Hemp Seed Oil, Vitamin E and Lime Oil.

The scent is obviously fresh and citrusy, simply divine!  This product is to target very dry areas of the body and especially any areas that are so dry that they have cracked, like the feet.

This multitasking product is perfect for lips, feet, cuticles, knees elbows, and any dry sore patches that need more than the usual moisturising.  I have even used this for the ends of my hair when it feels dry.  The whipped texture, makes it easy to spread and absorb.  Upon application it can seem oily but it immediately disappears into the skin leaving it soft, supple and smooth.

This sorbet has been our families saviour.  I've recently used this on my son's nose and lips as due to the flu, his lips were severely cracked.  This sorbet is more than a moisturiser not only does it lock in the moisture to prevent from further drying but hands still feel soft after washing.

Cow Lick Lip Balm - $4.50
MooGoo lip balms are made entirely of ingredients that are chemical-free, completely vegetarian and wholly edible - especially important in lip products where most of the substance does end up eventually being eaten.

It is colour-free and has a mild scent of oranges.  As this lip balm is edible, I tasted it.  There was no taste.  Teeth felt a little greasy though!

It's ultra moisturising and non greasy.  It protects the lips from the harsh winds, leaving lips soft and moisturised.  There is no build up of lip balm residue throughout the day of applying.  The lip balm ingredient are beeswax, cocoa butter, jojoba oil, coconut oil, soybean oil, vitamin E and cold pressed mandarin oil.  I love this product alongside the sorbet, these are the two must-haves needed to prevent any skin irritations.

Protein Shot Leave in Conditioner - RRP $7.50
This Protein Shot Leave-In Conditioner is a coconut, jojoba and olive oil based cream and silicone free. Before using this product I have not heard of silicone free products and did not know its purpose.

Silicone is an additive that brands use to give that silky, smooth feel, that leaves hair with incredible slip when wet and is found in both leave-on and rinse-off hair products.  Over time, we experience product build-up in the hair, leaving hair limp and oily looking and that's when we think the products are no longer working and we search for the next product.

This leave-in conditioner doesn’t leave my hair feeling oily or greasy but it does help tame my flyaway frizz.   Contains coconut, jojoba and olive oil.  Best to apply after towel drying hair. Massage a small amount of cream onto the hair ends.

Espresso Exfoliant Coffee Scrub - RRP $24.90
Made with finely ground fresh, virgin coffee  meaning your skin gets all the caffeine! Two super effective moisturising oils have also been added to the coffee, Squalene and Olive Oil as well as Natural Vitamin and a little honey.

This scrub gently buffs away dead skin cells leaving skin soft and smooth, so when moisturising skin all the goodness is absorbed immediately.

I love using coffee scrubs, the only downside is cleaning the shower cubicle afterwards!  It can get a little messy.
