I recently attended the launch for L'oreal's Colorista Innovative Hair Colour Launch which was held at Studio Neon in Redfern.  The creative space was lit in fluoro lighting and by the entrance an artist was painting an enormous canvas which was cool as hell.  On the other end of the floor were beauty stations and a DJ.

It was intriguing watching the artist working with minimal lighting.

(Please excuse the quality of my images, it was really difficult to photograph under fluoro lighting)

L'Oreal Hair Stylists were demonstrating with the Washout range and how quickly you can achieve your fun colour.

I worked my way to the hair stations and tried out the #pastel bluehair spray.

I loved it. I will need some practice to do it better but I loved how easy this look was.  Just to let you know it washed off fine without affecting my colour.

The launch featured the following hair colouring products which are available in store now.

a permanent hair colour to achieve the Ombre effects.

a permanent all over hair colour.

a semi-permanent that fades out after 10-15 washes

temporary hair colour that disappears after one wash.

Colorista Colour Remover
a fader shampoo to speed up the fading process.

The Colorista range is available at Chemistwarehouse and Priceline Stores.  For more info about the Colorista range visit and

Ecotools are celebrating their 10th anniversary this year and decided to give their branding a complete makeover in the process.

The entire collection has evolved based on the wants and needs of today's women and features a brand new logo, new product innovation as well as impressive responsible packaging.  The Ecotools range is made from recycled, natural and sustainable materials, thus making the entire process from start to finish environmentally friendly.

Ecotools makeup brushes have also been redesigned - featuring tapered light-weight brush handles, (made from renewable bamboo) and modern gunmetal ferrules with bristles that are in a beautiful ombre shades of brown.

The 2017 Ecotools Collection features 5 categories - Base, Finish, Sponges, Eyes, and Collections & Cleansers.  The packaging redesign includes an illustration of a face chart identifying the tool required to achieve your look.  This takes the guessing and intimidation away by simplifying your beauty routine.

Full Powder Brush (Base)
The bristles feel so luxurious and soft and is super easy to use. The brush features 70,000 soft bristles and aims to achieve an even distribution and blending to ensure a flawless finish.

It is best used with pressed powders.  I had no idea that there are brushes recommended for powder or liquid and maybe this is where I have been going wrong!  I love that this recommendation is clear on the packaging.

I use powder most mornings when applying my makeup. I liked the finish I got from using the 'Full Powder Brush'.  I found it distributed my foundation evenly on my face as well as providing great coverage. On several occasions I also used this brush for my bronzer.  There was no over-applied areas which usually happens. It didn't feel scratchy either more like a tickle massage!

Skin Perfecting Brush (Base)
Recommended to be used with BB and CC creams. The brush is designed with domed and angled bristles, it blurs imperfections for an airbrushed look.

I used this one mainly on weekends. I like a light coverage on my face, just enough to even out my skin-tone without looking as if you have makeup on.

Seamless Stippling Brush (Finish)
Recommended to be used with cream and liquid products, this brush is designed with duo-fibre bristles for soft application and layering of foundation, blush or highlighters.

I love using this brush when I am planning to go out. There are no streaks or heavy product residue, it applies product so easily.  This is one of my faves.

Ultimate Concealer Duo (Base)
I love this set. These brushes are designed to cover and blend imperfections. The Detail Concealer brush is perfect to target specific areas and the Airbrush Concealer brush blends for a flawless finish.

I use this mainly during the week especially when spots appear and to cover up any blemishes I have.

Six Piece Starter Collection (Sets)
This all in one simple essential starter pack is perfect for a novice (like moi) as well as ideal for travelling. This set features the following brushes - Blush, Concealer, Shading, Spoolie and Angled Liner and a nifty little cosmetic bag to put them in.   All the basics that you need.

Perfecting Blender Duo (Sponges)
This pack features two different sized sponges. The larger one is soft and flexible for light, buildable foundation application, while the mini is firmer for a more precise concealer coverage and to target specific areas.

Featuring the new EcoFoam Technology these beauty sponges feel and perform just as good as any other complexion sponges. The sponges are made from 71% plant-based materials, consisting of Sugar Cane, USDA certified materials as well as renewable plant-based contents to reduce use of petroleum during manufacturing. It is also 100% vegan and PETA Certified.

I replaced my beautyblenders with these and I honestly did not find a difference between them.  They performed just as good, if not better.

Overall, pretty impressed with these brushes and sponges.  These have definitely replaced existing pieces in my collection, not only because they perform well, because they are kind to the environment.

And if that is not enough, inside each of the packaging is a small positive note, personal touches like this is what makes the brand so special. I just love it!

Ecotools recently celebrated their brand new range of makeup tools over breakfast at Nour restaurant in Surry Hills.

We were treated to an array of delectable shared plates of delicious foods which included manush bread, Beirut rolls, fatush, rice almond pudding and fresh fruit salads.

Whilst we sipped on our coffees and devoured the yummy food, special guest Emily Banks, a natural health and beauty specialist, talked through the benefits of using natural products when it comes to makeup, finishing with a live demonstration using the new brushes.

Ecotools showcased their 2017 'The Modern Eco Collection.  The new collection of brushes are made with 29% tree free paper, have renewable bamboo handles, natural bristles and are PETA certified, and surprisingly, the sponges made with 70% sugarcane.

After breakfast and demonstration we played with the brushes on display and all I can say is that I couldn't wait to use them when I got home.

I will be doing a review on these soon, so keep an eye out!

I love using natural and organic products on my hair and body.  I love feeling the goodness, the smells and of course seeing and feeling the results. And the packaging, it's so pretty!  I'm a sucker for beautiful prints, especially packaging for beauty products. It definitely pretties up the bathroom! I was kindly sent several products to try and here are my thoughts.

Natura Siberica range focuses on using unique natural and organic Wild Harvested herbs and flowers sourced from Siberia. Their main ingredient that gives their products a unique smell is the Oblepikha berry plant, also know as the Altai Sea Buckthorn. They contain an exceptional natural source of vitamins A , E and C. Excellent for your skin and overall well-being.

Wild Harvested Siberian is known to treat ageing skin, reducing wrinkles and enhance firmness. The salts are free from SLS, SLES, GMO plants, mineral oils, PEG, parabens and glycol.

Growing up with three sisters, mum did her best ensuring that whatever products she used on our body was kind to our skin and gentle, especially that one of my sisters and myself suffered from mild eczema.

Fast forward to today and I'm doing the exact same thing for my family. We are fortunate that we have endless choices of brands to choose from and it takes trial and error until you find the right brand and products for you.  It's simple products need to work with our skin not against us.

I choose QV. I have been using it since my son was born 10 years ago. My son suffers from a mild form of eczema which I've been able to maintain by using products that have been dermatologically tested and are pH balance, fragrance and colour free.

Essence Cosmetics have released a range of 'matt matt matt' long-lasting lipglosses. From nudes to brights, these creamy matte formula's are on trend and give luxe brands a run for their money. There's nothing better than scoring a budget lipstick and wowing your friends when you tell them.

Matt matt matt lipglosses are a mousse texture with a velvety matte finish. They are all extremely pigmented, have staying power, and are definitely value for money.

These lipglosses are very lightweight and comfortable on the lips. I was extremely amazed by their creaminess and not overly drying formula as matte lipglosses can feel dry after sometime.  They have a sweet scented formula, I can't pinpoint the exact scent but it reminds me of caramel.

I'm loving their fun names (L to R) - Ready, Set, Impress!, Girl Of Today, Beauty-Approved! and  La Vie Est Belle.

The applicator works great, it's the perfect size, quite stiff and it houses just enough product to cover your lips.

Essence matt matt matt lip glosses retails for $4.95 each. They are available at all Target and Priceline stores. To find out more about the brand or pick up some tips & tricks visit their website here.

We always want what's best for our kids especially when it comes to personal care, so it makes sense to make sure that whatever we give our children to use that it is safe to use.

Teeth brushing is an important and essential part of his daily routine and when they get to a certain age, I can't always be by their side to ensure that they aren't eating the toothpaste in the process. That is why it is important to me that my son uses products that are natural and do not contain any nasty chemical ingredients.

Grants Toothpaste was established in 1984 and is an Australian family company that provides is an 'all natural' oral care brand. They are certified Australian made and owned. Their Cruelty-Free range utilises all-natural ingredients and does not contain sugar, SLS, colours, parabens or fluoride, instead using a Calcium Carbonate base in Certified Vegan formulas.

What is also important that children enjoy the flavour, this makes brushing teeth less of a chore and more of fun routine.

Grants of Australia Kids Natural Toothpaste is safe to use for all ages. They are available nationally in selected health stores or online at, and
