REVIEW: SUNCARE WITH ELLA BACHÉ FEATURING FACESAVER + SPORTSBLOC ACTIVE 50+

A skincare regime is vitally important to start as soon as you can in life, with our harsh damaging rays and environmental factors our skin ageing process is accelerated at high speed if no skincare plan is in place and the one item that is mandatory in a skincare regime is sunblock. And it shouldn't be seasonal either.

How many of you would pack away your sunscreen now that Winter is approaching? I know there are many who do because I was one of them! Many consumers relate Summer to sunburn but forget the sun doesn't change its harmful rays of UVA and UVB each season. Sun exposure is sun exposure. It is still harmful between the hours of 12 and 3. A dedicated face sunscreen should be an essential part of your skincare regime all year round.  The sun's UV rays will always win.

All of Ella Baché suncare products have been tested and approved by the TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration), a division of the Australian Department of Health.  The ingredients undergo rigorous testing to ensure the products are of the highest standard and suitable for Australia’s climate.

There are four items in the sunblock range and I have two here to review.  The Great Facesave Active 50+ and The Great SportsBlock Active.

Great Facesave Active 50+
Ella Baché's Facesave Active combines UVA and UVB broad-spectrum SPF 50+ protection with enriching super-fruit oils of pomegranate, cranberry and grapeseed as well as vitamin e and green tea extract.

Comes in a portable 50ml tube, perfect for the handbag, gym bag and beach bag. It has a thick creamy texture and has a nude/yellow tinted hue which disappears when rubbed onto the skin. There is no white cast like sunblock usually leaves behind. It does however, leave a shiny/dewy appearance on the skin that disappears after a few minutes.

Great Sportsbloc Active 50+
Ella Baché's Sportsbloc Active is a four-hour water resistant sunscreen with UVA anti-ageing protection.  Enriched with lanolin, macadamia nut oil and squalane from olive oil to keep skin soft and hydrated as well as super-fruit antioxidant oils of pomegranate, cranberry, grape seed and vitamin e.

Comes in a 130ml tube, which is easy to pack and take anywhere.  It has the same tinted hue as the Facesaver and smells divine.  It doesn't smell like other sunscreens and it doesn't leave a white cast on the body either.  There is no stickiness, it glides on the body easily leaving a transparent shiny film which disappears after a few minutes.  Skin is left feeling soft and hydrated the entire time.

I haven't come across sunscreen in this form before.  It doesn't clog pores nor irritate the skin.  I have used this on myself and my son. I really like the formula and will definitely be replacing my sunscreen with these.

Tips on applying sunscreen
It is recommended to apply sunscreen 20 minutes before any sun exposure, ensuring a smooth application with all areas of your skin covered. This is the time it takes for the sunscreen to activate protection.

The Ella Baché Great Suncare Range comes in either SPF 30+ or SPF 50+.  They are available at all Ella Baché salons and David Jones stores nationally. For stockists please call 1800 789 234 or visit our location finder at ellabache.com.au.
