Last week I attended a Product Development breakfast for makeup brand MUD.

The event was held at Andrew Boy Charlton Poolside Café Sydney. It was such a beautiful morning. We were welcomed by lovely smiles from the Heat Team as well as a gorgeous array of delicious breakfast treats like fresh fruit, acai bowls, smoked salmon rolls and fresh smoothies as well as freshly brewed tea and coffee by the friendly baristas on hand, all overlooking the gorgeous bay.

If you haven't heard about MUD yet, MUD is a brand exclusively stocked at Woolworths offering consumers a bargain quality line of cosmetic essentials. With prices ranging from $3 to $12, the brand has already proven a success, with a star product amongst the range already gaining attention with their foundation being named the bestselling foundation in supermarkets around the nation, as well as the second bestselling mascara.

It was then down to serious business as we listened to what goes on behind the scenes in developing a beauty range as well as swatched samples of the yet to be released products.

It was such an educational morning and so much information to take in.  Being a beauty blogger all I see is the finished product in its packaging.   It has never occurred to me that there is a very lengthy process to work through to achieve the end product.

To create a range it takes 9-12 months for production with manufacturing taking up to 3 months. Before it even gets to this stage, there are five stages to go through successfully first. I feel so fortunate to attend this breakfast as it has taught me to look at makeup in a different light.

As for the exciting new products, I can't tell you what they are, you will have to wait and see what the brand has in store for you peeps. But what I can share with you is the process that occurs before a range is released.

In the meantime MUD have added 11 new items to the latest range of MUD products.

Nail Polish - Au Naturale and Celestial
Brow Pencil - Blonde and Brunette
Lipstick - Barely Blushing and Cocoa Berry
Skin Perfecting Primer
Lip Pencil - Nude, Ballerina, Strawberry
Eye-shadow Palette - Nudes

As you can see I will be very busy swatching these so keep an eye out for my review next week.

I was invited as media guest for this special event
