I'm fairly new to the hair care products Shu Uemura has to offer. I honestly thought that the brand was only makeup and skincare, so very excited to explore their hair care range.

Series 2.0 is Shu Uemura's second art collaboration with their hair care range.  This time three Australian artists - Anya Brock, Billie Justice Thomson and Poppy Lissiman have lent their unique designs to be featured on Shu Uemura's bottles. These conditioners are part of their existing haircare range but have been selected to feature these limited edition designs.

It's a nice change to see pretty bottles in my shower. My shower caddy looking fashionably colourful! I road-tested all three conditioners alongside my own shampoo.

Silk Bloom Restorative Conditioner
The Silk Bloom Restorative Conditioner is recommended damaged hair. Containing ingredients like Argan Oil and Vitamin E to help nourish, repair and restore hair.

The texture and consistency of the conditioner is medium and silky to touch. The scent is fresh and floral but very subtle.   It leaves hair soft, and manageable with minimal static frizz.  It helps repair and replenish dry and damaged hair from using styling tools as well as damaged caused from environmental factors. This one is safe to use if you colour your hair.

FRAGRANCE: Hirosaki Flower
TOP NOTES: Green Almond, Hesperide Citrus
MIDDLE NOTES: Heliotrope, Frangipani Flower
BASE NOTES: Sandalwood, Vanilla, Almond Past

Muroto Volume Pure Lightness Conditioner
The Muroto Volume Pure Lightness Conditioner is recommended for fine hair. It helps detangle and nourish, while enhancing its volume and body for a fuller appearance. The texture and consistency is similar to Silk Bloom with a subtle floral scent.

It contains an ancient ingredient Himalayan crystals. Himalayan crystals are found in preserved volcanic lava that has Crystallised for over 200 million years. Rich in over 80 minerals, including potassium, iron and magnesium, these crystals infuse and fortify the hair with long-lasting volume, lightweight conditioning and a weightless touch.

FRAGRANCE: Waterlily
TOP NOTE: Tangerine, Watermelon, Apple, Black Currant
HEART NOTE: Waterlily, Floral Peony, White Orris Base
BASE NOTE: Sandalwood, Peach, Apricot, White Musk

Colour Lustre Brilliant Glaze Conditioner
The Colour Lustre Brilliant Glaze Conditioner is specifically for coloured hair. It provides lightweight conditioning and polished shine from mid-lengths to ends while preserving the hair's colour. The conditioner's refining lipids mimic the hair's natural protective varnish to insulate the cortex from water and other external stress factors.

With ingredients like Musk Rose Oil and Goji Berry extract it's no wonder that this conditioner is a best seller in Tokyo. Musk Rose oil is rich in fatty acids that deeply nourish the hair fibre and protect the hair from colouring.  Goji Berry Extract  is the most concentrated natural source of anti-oxidants. It helps protect the hair from oxidation and colour fade. Hair is left soft, full of body and colour vibrant.

This is my favourite out of the three for the scent as well as protection of my hair colour.  The Rose scent is noticeable but it's softened by the citrus and vanilla.

FRAGRANCE: Rose of Japan
TOP NOTE: Mandarin, Grapefruit, Black-Currant, Cardamon Essence
HEART NOTE: Rose, Freesia, Violet
BASE NOTE: Sandalwood, Musk, Vanilla

These limited edition bottles retail for $58 each for 250ml and are available at David Jones and online  These are limited so once they sell out they will no longer be available.

  1. This is a very useful post, thank you! I agree that innovations are the most important thing for most businesses, because with today’s fast changing world we need to stay on top of the changes, if we want to survive.
