What I love about the cooler months is having warm baths. Music from my ipod playing and relaxing in the tub and doing absolutely nothing. My downtime.
One brand I'm super excited for is Dr Teal's. I came across this brand in the US whilst travelling. I wanted to but didn't buy any of their salts as I wasn't sure that I would be able to bring it back home, so to find out that Dr Teal's have made it to our shores, I had to get my hands on one.
Dr Teal's therapeutic bath and body products are available in five variants, with three new ones - Detoxify & Energize, Pre-& Post Workout and Revitalize & Refresh.
Containing essential oils to soothe the senses, relax tense muscles and promote overall well being, the range is specially designed to prevent dry skin thanks to the neutral pH and alkaline-free formulation. In addition to the essential oils each of the products are formulated with, contains relaxing epsom salts that the body readily absorbs and leaves the skin feeling soft.
The one I am currently using is Detoxify & Energize, perfect for our body needs at the moment, with intense renovations currently taking place in our home our muscles and joints have reached exhaustion and constant achy back and severely dry skin due to touching paints, solvents and water.
Dr Teal's Pure Epsom Salt Detoxify & Energize contains Ginger and Clay which works naturally to remove the bodies buildup of toxins, easing aches and muscle pains and aids increasing natural energy levels.
The initial opening of the bag, the intensity of the fragrance hits my face and I instantly picture myself already in the bathtub. I couldn't wait to run a bath.
We've already gone through half the 1.36kg bag and it has truly been a lifesaver. We choose to bathe in salts than pop panadol. It also helps in falling asleep quicker!
How to use
Put at least 2 cups of Dr Teal's epsom salt in a warm running bath. Soak for 20 minutes and let the rich minerals absorb through the skin, offering relief to sore muscles.
If you have targeted some joint or body pains you can create a paste and apply to the area affected. To create a paste, dissolve a handful of Dr Teal's Epsom salt into a cup of hot water and cool the solution in the refrigerator for a least 20 minutes. Clean the skin before applying the paste to the affected area.
Epsom salts are also really good for sprains and stings too. Add one cup of epsom salt to one quarter of warm water. Immerse a washcloth in the solution and then wring out excess water. Apply the warm washcloth to the affected area until the cloth is no longer warm, repeat two or three times to help reduce pain and swelling.
The Dr Teal's Epsom Salt range retails for $19.99 (1.36kg) and the Foot Soak retails for $14.99.
