REVIEW: PAW PAW LIP BUTTERS BY NATRALUS AND GIVEAWAY

I love my lip butters especially when they contain natural ingredients. There aren't many natural lip balms on the market that are under $6.00 as there is usually a price tag attached to it and sometimes they aren't all that great either.

Natralus Australia is a 100% Australian-owned and operated, family business based in South Australia, dedicated to providing health and beauty products using natural and organic ingredients.

There’s lots of evidence to suggest that paw paw has all sorts of different therapeutic properties for inside the body and out. It’s beneficial for ulcers, eczema and other skin irritations as well a rich source of antioxidants that the body needs to fight against cancer-causing cells. Vitamin C, E and beta-carotenes are antioxidants that prevent all kinds of cancers.

Paw paw balms are extremely popular in Australia. With so many currently on the market it can be difficult to know which one to select as there are big differences between brands.

Some paw paw creams are nothing but moisturisers with paw paw flavouring, others have lots of paw paw but are based on petrochemicals. It takes a lot of research to work out which ones are best. But I can tell you the Natralus Australia lip butters contain one of the highest amounts of paw paw in their products and contains no petrochemicals.

Natralus Australia have recently created a super smooth Natural Paw Paw Lip Butter, enriched with Shea Butter and Vitamin E, and come in 4 delicious natural flavours;

Honey and Vanilla
Strawberry
Coconut
Cocoa Butter (coming soon). Oh hurry up! Can’t wait to try....

I tried all three luscious lip butters and I must say that I was pleasantly impressed! The rich and creamy formula instantly smoothed and nourished my lips and I enjoyed the scent and subtle flavours. My favourite would have to be the ‘coconut. Delicious!

I am a sucker for anything coconut which always reminds me of long hot summers, tropical island getaways and exotic cocktails. I love that they are all natural and free from nasties such as petroleum jelly, petrochemicals and parabens. As the name suggests these Natural Paw Paw Lip Butters all contain Australian organic papaya, and make wonderful souvenir presents for tourists, and overseas family and friends.

I confidently trust the whole Natural Paw Paw Lip Butter collection for my children and I to use and enjoy.

Natralus Australia Lip Butters are available now at Woolworths stores nationally, selected pharmacies, independent supermarkets and health food stores.

At just $5.75 RRP why not treat your lips with all 4 natural and juicy flavours. Apply as often as needed for an instant lip indulgence.

REVIEW: PREVENTING AGAINST COLD SORES WITH VIRAPROX

Did you know that 76% of Australians have at one point in their life experienced a cold sore, if not on a recurrent basis.

There are many contributing factors that trigger a cold sore break out from wind and sun exposure, low immune system, to illness, stress and fatigue. ViraproX is a preventative moisturising balm to keep cold sores away and under control and helps relieve the discomfort if one develops. In which during this time one should abstain from kissing and sharing of food, feeding and drinking utensils, as the virus is contagious!

Today I am trialling ViraproX Triple Action Lip balm, and although I do not get cold sores I do however suffer from dry, chapped lips from being constantly outdoors due to an active lifestyle.  It comes in a handy squeezable tube which makes for easy application.  I prefer this form instead of a lipstick style lip balm as for some reason they always end up messy in my handbag.

The texture of the lip balm is thick and somewhat oily but not greasy.  On my first application, I accidentally applied too much of the lip balm and was left with an unpleasant oily mouth and throat. My lips were definitely soft, smoother and well nourished. I didn't mind the menthol- licorice taste, which is unlike the usual fruity lip balms I use. This serves as a clever reminder that it's actually medicated and with a purpose!

The flavour resembles a remedial tea I once drank overseas in Serbia to treat headaches and migraines. Personally I love the fact that ViraproX contains a broad spectrum SPF 30 to protect my lips while I'm out in the sun. Perfect for sports people such as surfers, tennis players, golfers. Even gardeners, hikers and climbers. Indeed those who are exposed to the elements and like me with constant chaffed lips.

So on my second application I was careful to use only the most tiniest amount, which resulted in happy, shiny, hydrated lips. I am impressed with how light it feels on and that it's not at all sticky. Kudos to the manufacturer and marketing who kept the printing of the words 'cold sore' in smaller, discreet font, so users don't feel embarrassed or self-conscious if their tube is left on public display.

I'm a firm believer "prevention is better than cure"!

At $7.95 ViraproX is definitely the go for lip balms, whether you are prone to cold sores or not.

ViraproX is exclusively available in pharmacies. To find a stockists or for more information on ViraproX visit their website www.egopharm.com.au.

REVIEW: FAKE BAKE BRONZER WASH-OFF INSTANT TAN

I was recently given a self-tanning product by a good friend who overheard me complain that I hated my ridiculous tan lines. I remember the first self-tanning products that came on the market, which I tried with a bunch of high school friends. We thought we were so cool back then. But I shudder as I look at the photos of us in our school uniform, big happy smiles and OMG orange faces. I was reminded of sickly plastic smells, streaky limbs, stained palms, chocolate brown at the beginning and neon orange when it started to fade. That was the first and last time I self-tanned.

Since then I have been blessed with a natural, outdoor tan from former years as a professional tennis player but unfortunately not all over my body. I have managed to even out my once hideous sock line but my skirt line is still quite noticeable.

I've heard about all the latest self-tanners, great new formula's, improved products, awesome finishes. I was definitely intrigued, so I accepted her gift and decided to give Fake Bake Matte Medium a go.

The pretty pink packaging looked simple yet classy, I was feeling excited. I was instantly drawn to the words on the front of the box "Golden Faux Glo Bronzer" and "Streak free, Easy Application".

Fake Bake was the first self-tan line to combine the naturally derived tanning agents DHA and Erythulose to offer next-generation results that incorporated improved natural colour development, greater colour intensity, increased evenness of coverage, reduced streaking and longer lasting tan results with a slower fade rate.

After reading the box, the tube and the instruction leaflet enclosed I felt ready and confident. I started by showering and exfoliating to prep my skin. I dried off completely, slipped on their handy rubber gloves and applied the product in circular motions all over my body, as evenly as I could. I liked that the self-tan lotion is darkly pigmented which meant I could see where I was putting it on.

Before applying the tan

It has a smooth consistency and smelled deliciously of vanilla. It doesn't state how long I should wait before I could dress or lie down, but claims that it is transfer resistant, so I assumed when it dried I would be safe. Boy was I surprised at how quickly the lotion is absorbed, so work quickly and blend well. For trickier areas such as the knees, ankles, feet, elbows and hands you can rub over a little of your moisturising cream to tone it down a bit on these parts.

After applying the tan

Thanks to my girlfriend's generous gift the result were fantastic! I am impressed with my gorgeous radiant glow. Fake Bake Matte Medium hid my pale upper thighs, beautifully concealing and blending them to a believable, all-over natural tan. As this was the Matte Medium I think this is best suited for those with medium, olive to darker skin tones. Unless the pale really, really want to go noticeably deep bronze then I would suggest they try the lighter version instead.

What's even better is Fake Bake formulations are free from parabens, artificial preservatives and are non-comedogetic, so they won't clog pores. Further, a wash-off cosmetic colour guide makes for a flawlessly even application every time.

Super easy to use and a great product to look naturally tanned, as though you've just come back from a tropical island holiday.

Fake Bake products are available through Priceline, select salons nationally or online at www.fakebake.com.au .
