L-R: Coral Reef, Perfect Pear, Mint Julep, Forget Me Not, Pink Perfect

I’ll start by saying coloured mascaras are one of my favourite things ever. They are fun and can really bring a whole eye look together with the right colour combos.

NYX have outdone themselves again bringing out a funky range of mascaras, to play, have fun and look bloody awesome at the same time!

My favourite out of the lot would be the 'Forget Me Not' and Pink Perfect.

Forget Me Not
NYX mascaras are the best and most affordable colour mascaras currently on the market.  In the above photo, I have only given my lashes about three coats.  Coverage, product application to lengthen was really good.  staying power was pretty good as well. There were no smudges or flakes falling off throughout the day.

I really like the brushes.  They are thin making it easier to apply close to the eyelids without making a mess.  I'm really impressed of the quality of these mascara, it is definitely value for money.

NYX coloured mascara are available at all Target stores and Target online store. At $12.95 you can afford to buy all 5!

Have you ever used coloured mascara?  If so, what is your favourite colour?

I have a confession to make, I haven't actually tried any NYX products until the day I attended the BloggersUnited Event. Where have I been!

NYX's Butter glosses are the smoothest and most comfortable lip glosses I've ever worn. They are so creamy and highly pigmented. It's like a super duper moisturised lipstick, but only better. Oh did I mention they smell divine!

When I was younger I loved lip glosses but as I have gotten older I've become more of a lipstick gal as I find glosses are too sticky and too shimmery and I'm sure I'm not the only oldie who feels the same.

This is where butter gloss has won over my lipsticks. They have the moisturising properties and opaqueness of a lipstick and a creamy shine which I like, giving me a more youthful appearance.

OK, now for some colour swatching.

L-R: Fortune Cookie, Eclair, Vanilla Cream Pie, Strawberry Parfait, Cherry Pie, Ginger Snap

I love these colours.  They all looked really good on my lips, I believe that these colours were carefully formulated to ensure they made every girl look good!

From a beautiful nude shade to a deep brown, each one could be worn lightly or pack it on and give your lips a dose of shine and fullness.

NYX's Butter Glosses are available from Target stores and Target Online for $9.95.

No one likes to think and talk about wrinkles, but whether you age gracefully or not eventually you will get some. If you have been following my blog for a while, you will know that I'm not a big fan of plastic surgery or invasive treatments unless it needs to be done for medical health reasons.

That is why I'm a fan of Transformulas range of products like the EyeLifting Gel because it does exactly what it says it does.

The texture of the product is a clear watery gel consistency. There is no scent or colour. It has a slight cooling affect when first applied making it pleasant to use. At first it is a bit sticky but this eventually dries.

RRP $49.00

Best way to apply is to dab under the eye area and then pat it in with your finger to blend; rather than smearing under the eye like a lip gloss.

After two applications I found that that the effects were instantly seen and felt. My under eye area was instantly tight, firm and smooth. I applied concealer and foundation and found that it went on smoother leaving a nicer surface to apply make up on.

The top ingredients this gel contains are Beech Tree Bud (this gives the skin more elasticity to help reduces lines), Kigelia Africana Extract (offers antibacterial properties for healing, firming and hydrating the skin) and 25% Hydroxypropyl Cyclodextrin.

EyeLifting Gel is compact and discreet and can be carried around in your handbag. I highly recommend this product I love it!

FaceContour and Tightening Creme is known as Lift and sculpt WITHOUT the Knife!

RRP $59.00

Face Contour and Tightening Creme is a treatment product to sculpt, contour and define the jowl area, jawline, cheekbones, and forehead.

As we age, skin loses elasticity because the cells cross link to make them weaker and less structured. But FaceControl can give visible results after just one application. Eyebags, lines and wrinkles give way to a face that radiates a more youthful, taut appearance.

With ingredients like  Acmella Oleracea - relaxes muscle contractions, softening the appearance of wrinkles and expression lines, Tocopheryl Acetate - boasts anti-inflammatory and healing properties, Allantoin – a valuable cell-proliferating healing agent for healthy tissue and softer skin and Prunas Perscia – helps prevent the skins natural tendency to dehydrate, it's no wonder this product has a cult following in the UK.

To be applied twice a day morning and evening on freshly cleansed skin, smooth in until absorbed and you feel a tightening sensation almost immediately.

When treating the neck and jowl area, apply small amounts onto the skin with firm upward movements.  For the jaw line and chin, apply from chin to the jaw line, smooth in an outward, upward motion to top of the jaw and down under the ear.  Cheekbones apply and smooth outward upward motion pushing firmly from cheekbone to the eye area and the forehead, pat onto forehead pushing firmly outwards and upwards.

For optimum results use daily under your favourite moisturiser over a 30 day period and continue to use daily for ongoing results.

Transformulas are available at Priceline. For more information on these products visit

These products were kindly provided for consideration.

Kryolan Professional Make-Up began in 1945 in Berlin, West Germany. Renowned for its vast product range, high quality, and depth of pigments, it is the oldest and true professional makeup brand used by makeup artists especially in the TV/Movie Industry.

To find out they had recently launched in Oz was a very exciting thing! What was even better was finding out they were exhibiting at the Bloggers United Australia event I attended last month. In our goodie bags, we all received a Kryolan product.  I got the lipstick!

The colour I received is called Nike. A really nice pink.  Love pink lippies!

This lipstick is a highly pigmented and has a very matt but velvety appearance. It is smear-proof and contains Vitamin E. It is long-wearing even after eating and drinking. It has a really nice scent to it, I cannot pinpoint the scent but it is somewhat familiar. It comes in 18 great colours to choose from.  At $36, it is reasonably priced especially for its quality.

Here is a sample palette of 3 colours (including the Nike) and a skin swab.

You can see how vibrant their colours are. From left to right - Nike, Eos, Aurora.

REVIEW: Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Gel Cream and Facial Oil

Oils of Life is all about discovering the power of oils. They contain three precious seed oils that help revitalise and nourish skin. The oils used are black cumin seed oil from Egypt, rosehip seed oil from Chile and camellia seed oil from China, all known for their impressive revitalising and repairing properties.

The products I am reviewing are the Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Gel Cream and Facial Oil.  I was excited to use something that is both light and intensely moisturising.

Intensely Revitalising Gel Cream

I have always had combination skin, but since hitting my late 30’s I am now starting to suffer from areas of more distinct dryness and lack of moisture, especially on the forehead and temples. Unfortunately, I am still prone to break outs, so I am always careful not use anything too heavy that would provoke my skin breaking out.  From the description, this cream seemed to offer a perfect balance for my skin concerns.

What I look for in a skin care product, are the potency of the active ingredients. This is the most important aspect of a product, and it will give me an idea of how effective a product will be, both in the short and long term. One of the things I always look for is that they contain a good dose of vitamins A, C and E, all very effective to promote skin radiance, hydration and prevent/reverse fine lines. The active ingredients of this line of products are of course, contained in the oils, and these are rosehip, black cumin and camellia seed oil. I am usually wary of using oils on my face, but these three are chosen to match well with the skins own sebum, and are thus much safer to use for break out prone skin. The oils are also very high in vitamins A. C, E.which are all very effective to promote skin radiance, hydration and prevent/reverse fine lines.

I used this cream for just over two weeks, in the morning and evening with the serum. Overall, I feel the results were positive. It hydrated well, and I did notice a positive change in my skin's radiance. It lives up to its claim of being a light cream, and I was impressed with the amount of hydration it was actually able to offer. I noticed in the morning my skin looking more refreshed and is a perfect base for my make-up.

I like that the Oils of Life products are a naturally sourced and does not contain all the nasties that many other skin care products can contain. Its priced at over $40 however, and I’m not sure I would personally purchase this myself, as I tend not to spend more than $30 on a moisturiser but I am tempted to stretch that little bit more on a product if it produces these types of results.

Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil

I tried this serum together with the gel cream in this line. My first impression, was that this is more a "facial beauty oil" then a serum, and that put me off a bit, as previously mentioned I am prone to break outs when using heavy products.

Oils are generally not something I apply directly on my face! I was reassured to learn that the three featured oils of this product are "break out safe", meaning they are lighter oils, and are also chemically similar to our skins own sebum. I was also impressed to know that black cumin, one of the three featured oils here, whilst being a powerful anti ageing ingredient, is also commonly used to treat and prevent acne. It has both anti bacterial and anti inflammatory effects on the skin. With this information on my side, I took the chance and tried the serum for a two weeks.

Results. I used this serum in the evening under the gel cream during the two weeks. I definitely noticed a change in my skin. I looked more rested when I woke in the morning, and my skin took on an unmistakable "plump", from the extra hydration.

After a few days I did notice a breakout on my forehead. I am not sure the serum had anything to do with it, as I was suffering alot more stress then usual, and the forehead is always where I break out during stressful times. I persevered with the serum, and had no more break outs occur after the first. The break out that did occur a few days into the trial seemed to heal a little faster then usual, and I'm guessing that may be due to the effects of black cumin seed oil.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by this serum. It matches well with the gel cream, and both are readily absorbed without leaving residue. The verdict is still out for me just how break out safe this serum is, but I'm definitely impressed by the greater hydration and radiance I see since using it.

Skin Food is one of the many products in the extensive Weleda range. Known for its natural quality ingredients and being effective, it contains an exotic combination of deep moisturising antioxidant herbs that feed and soothe rough and dry skin.

I used Weleda Skin Food for my shaving rash on my lower legs. I sometimes get very uncomfortable dry skin and rashes, especially after using a worn out razor. My go to product for this is usually sorbolene, and generally only makes little difference.

Skin food is a thick, semi sticky cream that requires rubbing in, just like a barrier cream, only difference is the skin absorbs it beautifully leaving no sticky or greasy residue.

I found Skin Food pretty much cured my shaving rash over night. After applying it for a couple of days my legs were transformed to silky smooth with no irritation or evidence of a rash.

The cream contains lanolin, an oil derived from wool, and which is used in hospitals to treat wounds. Lanolin creates a breathable protective layer to the skin, while deeply moisturising. The cream also contains calendula which is very soothing to inflammation.

The cream has a very medicinal and soothing feel to it, and while I applied it I just knew it would do me good!  Skin Food also has aided in softening the skin around my knees and elbows.  I also applied it to my lips.  I found this to be more moisturising than a lip balm.

Overall I'm very impressed with the product and how effective it is. Next I'll be trying it on my rough knees and elbows!

Skin Food is an allrounder top to toe beauty must-have.  Perfect for any ages young or old.

Weleda Skin Food comes in two sizes 30ml for $14.95 and 75ml for $21.95.  Both are available at  For stockists check out their website.

Since my son was born, I've had to be extremely careful with what products I used on his skin as he suffers from mild eczema. Learning the hard way by using certain baby products my son developed skin irritations, rashes and scaly patches.

Going back 8 years ago, organic and natural products were fairly new on the market, with only several brands dominating the industry and none of them were organic.

During one of our parent meet ups during the first few months of motherhood, I was told about the brand Weleda. I've been using it ever since.

Even though my son is no longer a baby, I don't see the reason why I should change products when Weleda works well. This is why I love washing my son with Weleda’s Calendula products; Calendula Cream Bath and Shampoo and Body Wash, which I use when he either in the bath or shower.

The Weleda Calendula Cream Bath is a gentle, all-natural with organic sesame seed oil, sweet almond oil and a light fragrance made from chamomile and calendula essential oils. It smells calming and amazing.

The Cream Bath has a thin milky consistency.  It doesn't foam or bubble up.  I don't squeeze it through running water. I fill the bath tub and then squeeze the product in to the bath and swish it around with my hand.  The tub water turns a milky white colour.  It is so moisturising for the skin that I don't always moisturise my son's skin after bathing.

Calendula Shampoo & Body Wash is designed with the mildest organic and natural plant-based cleansers, this shampoo and body wash is gentle on the eyes and skin.  This wash has more of a thicker consistency and does produce bubbles when used in the bath tub. It is just as moisturising as the cream bath.

As friends and family popped out babies, I never hesitated when selecting products as gifts especially when it's based on personal experience. My sister recently gave birth to a gorgeous boy and I purchased her this gift pack and she loved it. Gift packs are a great way for parents to trial the products before buying the full size.

I don't usually endorse or highly recommend many products, but this is a brand I buy regularly and I do highly recommend it.

The Calendula range prices start from $14.95 and is available at health food stores, pharmacies and online.

Weleda not only cater for children but also for adults.  To see the entire Weleda range of products, hop onto their website and check it out.

Natura Siberica is a fairly new brand in my beauty radar.  I was introduced to the brand at a bloggers event I recently attended, BloggersUnitedAU.

Natura Siberica is an all natural brand direct from Siberia.  On the day I received two products, the Oblepikha Shampoo & Conditioner.

I absolutely love foreign products hitting our shores, we need more variety and choice! So what is Oblepikha? Berries! Also known as Buckthorn berries. They are exceptional natural source of vitamins A , E and C. Excellent for your skin and overall well-being.

The packaging very inviting.  I'm a sucker for beautiful prints and packaging when it comes to products.  No I'm not that shallow I do see beyond the packaging when it comes to beauty products. But I do like to scatter lots of pretties around the bathroom!

Just on first impressions on the packaging range though you would never think that these are available at Chemist Warehouse and at really affordable prices.

Before I use new products, I always sniff anything I apply to my hair and body. Before washing my hair I took a big sniff and shivered from the smell.  At first its nice but then that sour bite hits you right up your nostril.  The only thing I can compare it too is citrus foods going off and sour. I guess that's because of the active organics with no perfumes to mask its smell.  That didn't turn me off, when I applied the shampoo the scent changed to a more pleasant and inviting fragrance.

I like the colour of both products, it has a natural look to it.  The shampoo consistency isn't as thick some other brands which is fine as it foamed up just nicely.

Shampoo (L) - Conditioner (R)

The conditioner also wasn't thick, again it was OK, because at the end of the day if it has good moisturising properties in it, the thickness isn't going to matter.

Once I blow dried my hair, it felt soft with no tangles.  It was very easy to style with very few frizzy bits.  The conditioner didn't weigh down my roots, which is a plus as I usually like putting conditioner on my roots every now and again.

The Siberica Range is available at Chemist Warehouse or online
