FASHION: MBFWA + FAKE BAKE LOOK S/S 2015/16

Creating the Tan Look for IXIAH S/S 2015/16

WEDNESDAY APRIL 15, The Box, Carriageworks

In a showcase fit for royalty, effortless light as air dresses, offset by intricate hand-made tapestries and carefully designed embroideries were the focus for the IXIAH Spring/Summer 2015/16 collection. Presented at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia on Wednesday 15th April, the regal collection was showcased to a full-house audience that included the likes of Sheridan Fisher, Caitlyn Paterson and Erin Holland.

THE CONCEPT
Designer, Krystal Davis based the collection around the majestic beauty of royal attire, where strong custom-made gold adornments and harnesses complimented bold prints. The strong regal patterns were set alongside a neutral colour palate, lifted by multi-coloured prints that infused a rainbow of soft muted hues, ranging from blush accents to bottle green shades.

Complementing the majestic feel of the showcase, Global leading salon professional self and spray tanning brand, Fake Bake added a bronze element to the collection by providing the show’s tan look. Led by Fake Bake Tan Expert, Sharon Blockley, the brand drew inspiration from IXIAH’s neo-tribal influence to offer a tanned look that beautifully enhanced the collection’s structure and shades.

THE LOOK

Each model was treated to a range of Fake Bake products to create skin luminosity. Here, Tan Director, Sharon Blockley, explains how to recreate the look as seen on the IXIAH runway:

Starting with fresh dry skin, created the required base by using Fake Bake Skin Smoothie Oil to add moisture. Incorporating a luxurious blend of botanicals and essential oils, this product’s dry-oil formula is easily and quickly absorbed by skin, leaving it soft and radiant.

Then, depending on the desired depth of colour, use a combination of Fake Bake Faux Glow Instant Tan and Fake Bake Bronzer Gel Instant Tan by working the formula onto skin with the provided applicator aid, moving in upward motions. Both products provide an instantly beautiful bronze with a camera-ready finish.

To finish the look, use Fake Bake Tinted Body Glow to accentuate skin luminosity and created a highlight to areas such as the shoulders and legs. This bronze coloured moisturiser works on any skin type to add an instant natural glow.
