REVIEW: ELLA BACHE SENSIBEAUTICS INTENSIVE RECOVERY SERUM

Ella Baché SensiBeautics was introduced a couple of years ago to their ever expanding range and has been formulated specifically for sensitive skin.

Sensitive skin is an increasing concern for women in Western society.  With skin being exposed on a daily basis to a number of stress elements including pollution, smoke and UV radiation, these elements are what breaks down the skin barriers, which heighten the skin's risk of being sensitised, thus the reason why I wanted to try this product.

The Sensitive recovery Serum delivers immediate soothing and calming benefits by reducing inflammation of the skin, reinforcing, repairing and balancing the skin’s natural ecoflora defences.

This silky textured serum helps minimise persistent, unwanted redness. Visibly reduces the size, amount and redness of dilated capillaries and prevents future redness and dilation of capillaries.

With ingredients like Wheat Germ Oil which nourishes and moisturises the skin and provides comfort,  ProBioSkin, a pre- and pro-biotic complex that strengthens the skin’s ecoflora defence barrier, Pro-tolerance Complex, reduces reactivity, sensitivity and sensations of discomfort like burning, itching and tingling, Brown Flax Seed Extract, its dual action provides a protective barrier and interrupts the inflammatory response at a high level, whilst reducing inflammation, redness and improves the skin’s overall tolerance to environmental aggressors, Raspberry Seed oil, reduces the effects of oxidative stress on skin by providing an anti-irritant shield improving skin comfort and strengthening the skin’s barrier and Glycerin, moisturises and softens the skin.

It comes with a pump which dispenses just the right amount you need for your face and neck.  It is to be applied before your moisturiser focusing on sides of the nose, forehead, cheeks, chin and decollete where the skin is more delicate.

Below you can see the colour and texture of the serum. It's light and silky to touch.

I do have sensitive skin partly due to age and partly due to being exposed to the elements for many years.

The serum instantly absorbed into the skin and skin feels silky.  It leaves a subtle glowy shine on the skin with a cooling effect.  I have noticed a difference in my skin's condition since using Sensibeautics serum, there is definitely an improvement in the capillaries around my chin and cheeks. They can be quite prominent on warm days or when I'm not feeling the best.

REVIEW: RESCUE YOUR NAILS WITH REVITANAIL NAIL STRENGTHENER RANGE

Like my skin, my nails go through a cycle of looking amazing for weeks or months to looking horrible as if I peeled wallpaper with my fingers.  From healthy looking cuticle and nails to dry cuticles with cuts, nails splitting and cracking and fragile.

I'm not sure why this happens, whether hormone plays a part.  Stress and diet definite does but I don't do anything different during those periods.  I sometimes wonder if my hands go through a hormonal depression.

Its comforting to know that there are products on the market to rescue our paws from desolation and restore them to their former glory.

My hands are currently going through a 'hormonal depression' period.  It's been about two weeks and my hands, nails and cuticles look terrible.

So to have the chance to review two Revitanail's products from their extensive range, I jumped at the chance.  I chose to trial Revitanail's 'Keratin Strengthening Serum' & the 'Nourishing Oil'.

Here is a current photo before starting treatment.  Not only my nails and cuticles look dry, but even my hands go through a spell of dryness.

I will apply the serum several times a day to my nails and cuticles.  This will sit on my desk beside my hand cream and be an extra step to my hand maintenance.  As for the oil I will apply this in the morning and night as I think my boss will not appreciate me spending five minutes caring for my hands every time I pop out to the loo or get a bite to eat!

So here's a little bit of info about the products I will be reviewing.

Revitanail Keratin Strengthening Serum
If you’re after a convenient formulation that be used on-the-go, this Revitanail strengthening option is a God-send. It contains ProSina keratin peptide, which is clinically proven to strengthen, protect and hydrate nails. It's water-based formula allows it act as a protective base coat under polish.

The serum can be applied 2-3 times a day or as often as required onto polished or clean nails to leave them nourished, hydrated and protected against daily wear and tear as well as repair and protect your cuticles.

Revitanail Nourishing Oil
Enriched with vitamin A and E, it combines a nourishing blend of soothing oils and herbal extracts to deliver extra nourishment to nails and cuticles, while promoting increased flexibility. Apply as often as required for a conditioning boost.

The oil can be applied as often as need onto the cuticles, massage the oil in for around a minute.  There is no oily residue, cuticle sucks all the nutrients up leaving your cuticles looking soft and moisturised.

One week after using  Revitanail's 'Keratin Strengthening Serum' & the 'Nourishing Oil'. You can see the difference. I have been using the Keratin Strengthening Serum 2 to 3 times per day as recommended for the past week and the nourishing oil 2 times a day. As you can see from the photo there is a vast improvement. They feel so moisturised and cuticles are repairing nicely.

I know there is a slight difference in lighting in the photo.  As it was taken at a different time of the day I try my best to make sure that I take the same type of photo so you can see the difference in before and after results.

As winter is literally around the corner it is important to protect your hands from the harsh cold winds and winter conditions. Using the serum and oil everyday as well as moisturising and exfoliating your hands regularly, you will be sure that your nails and cuticles will look in top condition throughout winter and into spring!

LAUNCH: ELLA BACHÉ'S PRODUCT PREVIEW FOR APRIL

Brand: Ella Baché
When: 4 March 2015
Where: The Arc Factory, Surry Hills

I attended an intimate one on one briefing with training manager and skincare expert Heather Vounnou for Ella Baché.

Having worked around the world in 6-star resorts and treating A-list celebs, you would be exposed to the best of the best beauty products around, so to choose to work for Ella Baché, it says a lot about the brand.

Heather revealed two new product innovations from the Eternal and Classics range whilst I nibbled on some delicious fruit and nuts from the super healthy smorgasbord of cheeses, mini sandwiches and a variety of berries, yummo!

Vounnou discussed the brand’s new curriculum for therapists, which guarantees they receive thorough knowledge on all aspects of the brand and salon treatments. A trainer and sales manager also visits each salon every six weeks to offer support. With many different lines on offer, the training ensures all salon staff have full awareness on the brand, so they can give their customers premium service that they deserve.

Two new amazing products that will be released from April are the Extreme Regeneration Masque and Eternal Beautifying Eye Cream.

Eternal Restructuring Eye Cream
The Eternal Restructuring Eye Cream is an age-fighting cosmeceutical that rapidly lifts, brightens and tones skin around the eye area.

The restructuring eye cream is the latest addition to the Eternal skincare range.  With advanced ingredient technology, it targets three biochemical triggers of ageing around the eyes by helping to stimulate collagen production by 111 per cent, providing a concentrated dose of antioxidants to fight free radical damage, and uses sugar-trapping ingredients to target glycation.

This product is designed specifically for us gals or guys who are experiencing advanced signs of ageing and want to combat wrinkles, dark circles, puffiness, loss of density and age marks. With our harsh sun, it is important to look after our skin as well as our eyes.  Premature ageing can be avoided if proper skin maintenance is done.  This product is suitable for just about anyone.

The Eternal Restructuring Eye Cream 15ml, will be available from April and retail for $99.00

Extreme Regeneration Masque
Offering an intense soothing, re-hydrating and regenerating effect.  This is a vital step in the treatment of any skin suffering from dehydration. It works to replenish and restore critical moisture levels to dehydrated, devitalised and age-damaged skin.

The masque use the latest in cutting-edge ingredient Bio-Cellulose technology - an organic skincare material cultured in a lab through natural fermentation of coconut water, to provide perfect product adhesion, optimising ingredient penetration and hydration levels.  The masque has been shown to increase hydration levels from 21% to 91% in one application.

The Extreme Regeneration Masque (2 pack) will be available from July and retail for $78.00.

What makes Ella Baché's masque stand out from what is currently on the market?
The majority of masques are made from cloth or non-woven materials.  Below is a short explanation on different types of masks.

Cloth
These are either made from natural materials, like cotton, silk or other fibres. These are also prone to adherence and moisture loss during application. Like fibre, cloth masks do not permit movement when worn. Gaps between mask fabric and skin surface are common.

Non-woven
A non-woven mask is made from man-made materials. They have a limited capacity to replenish moisture and transfer ingredients to the skin. Non-woven masks evaporate quickly with only the top layer of the skin benefiting from it. Their paper-like texture lacks the contouring to adhere well for more than a few minutes.

Bio Cellulose
Is an all-natural medium (woven by cultured bacteria). The material was developed initially for medical applications, where its capacity to maintain moisture and bind to skin was well suited to heal wounds and treat burns. Cosmetic developers have been drawn to the therapeutic properties of bio cellulose. A bio cellulose fabric feels like a cool, moist gel with its underlying structure being resilient. They form to the face structure trapping in the moisture thus giving a more effective treatment.

You only need to use this masque once a week or as necessary. The Extreme Regeneration Masque comes in a pack of two, perfect to take with you on flights where skin is exposed to the worst type of dehydration. I know when I fly my skin is screaming for moisture even through I mist and moisturise in-flight, these aren't enough.

At the end of our briefing, I was given a personal skincare diagnosis using Ella Baché’s Skin Diagnostic Tool. We were then given products specific for my skin needs and concerns.  I can't wait till I start using the products!
