MILKY FOOT - Beauty Review & Giveaway

When the weather warms up and summer is approaching we all scramble to primp and prune our body to wear sandals, skirts and shorts and be beach ready.  In autumn and winter we hide our body and bits away for hibernation and neglect it.   Our feet are one part of our body that deserve a bit of extra TLC whether winter or summer.

Being time poor and having to spend an hour in a salon to get your mani or pedi done can be such a chore especially in winter when you prefer to be at home snuggled up on the lounge and eat yummy cheese on toast.  And if you have family and kids, trying to find time for yourself is even worse.

With all that extra time cosing on the couch you can still have perfect feet throughout winter and confidently show them off when shopping for new shoes!

Milky Foot is a revolutionary miracle product.  I suffer from dry heels I believe more than the average person (see image below), not sure why though, maybe its because I'm in thongs and sandals 99% of summer so my feet are exposed to all elements and drying out my skin, regardless how often I soak my feet and use a foot file and cream, it will look great for a couple of days and then its all dry again.  There is only so much skin you can file off your feet.  I'm all for DIY Beauty as I visit the salon a lot less these days as I find it extremely hard to find anyone who could do a great pedi.

The Milky Foot Exfoliating Pads is the quite an intensive treatment that exfoliates your skin to remove any rough patches.  It contains exclusive ingredients, ExMilac and Almond-based Mandelic Acid, works by using enzymes that help break down the hardened protein in dry, scaly skin along with additional exfoliating agents.  This is not recommended for pregnant women and/or diabetics.

I was eager to try Milky Foot, as it sounded way to easy for it to be effective.  Just slip your feet in a bag and relax for an hour or so and voila, in a few days your skin should peel away and you will have soft silky feet.  I wish they sold bags for weight loss, lay in it for an hour and the weight just falls off!

On a serious note, It is important to read the instructions before commencing any type of treatment.

Warning photos may be disturbing!

Here is a lovely image of my feet!

Before using Milky foot, you can see what I mean about dry feet.

Cut along the dotted line and then insert your feet

The Milky Foot treatment is very easy to use - simply cut open the two pouches and slide in your freshly washed and dried feet, it's like putting on slippers.

Now relaxing time

It is important that you schedule some relaxation time for this process because once you have them on you need to wait 60 minutes.  Oh, and make sure you wash any solution that go on your hands afterwards or you may have a surprise in a few days!

The Exfoliating Foot Pads are like plastic socks filled with gel.  The sensation is cold and squishy.  The product has a chemical smell but isn't unpleasant on the nose.  For the first ten minutes it did make my skin feel a little tingly which is normal and then it went away.

Each night I moisturised my feet.  On the fifth day I took a bath and barely touching my feet the skin was falling off in chunks (the instructions states 5-10 days which is pretty accurate), and I was hoping the peeling process was visible so I could take a photo of it and gross you out but when I stepped out of the tub and dried my feet it was like I had new feet.  Whilst drying myself and rubbing the towel around my feet some more skin fell off.   The only part of my feet that still had some evidence of peeling skin were above my feet and below my ankles.  I was definitely left with silky soft feet that were very pretty.

Look! Soft milky foot

It can take up to 2 weeks for the peeling to stop, if you have a big event planned I would recommend doing the Milky Foot Intense Exfoliating Foot Pad treatment well in advance.

So...did it work?

Me, myself and my feet, are very pleased to be able to give you a definite "YES"!

Moisturising after shower is recommended if you want to maintain the softness of your feet.  It is  also recommended to do the peel every two months.  My feet will only improve with each treatment.  I still have a little hardness at the heel but 90% had gone with just one treatment.

This would have to be the easiest DIY product I have ever used and with amazing results.

My overall rating - 5/5

SUIGO - JoyShair Ulitmate Control Shampoo, Conditioner & Treatment Review

Such a buzz around Suigo products and rave reviews, I wanna try, success!

Suigo is a natural based product, with targeted ingredients collected by advanced methods. It is aimed at targeting and solving various hair and scalp problems. Suigo products are available at professional hair and beauty salons only.

The Ultimate range is a perfectly gentle, plant-infused range that cares for your hair. With special intensifying formula, this product can strengthen hair, helping to prevent breakage. Ideal for weak, dull and lifeless hair it will not overload it and will restore condition and elasticity. Ingredients; keratin, bean protein, Madagascar longoza and Sumac nut oil.

Ulitmate Control Shampoo & Conditioner

I trialled both shampoo and conditioner and I have to say I loved washing my hair with it and loved how my hair felt afterwards.

The fragrance is so subtle it was refreshing to not be overpowered by perfumes in a shampoo.  The thick consistency was luxurious and lathered really well in my hair, I normally do two shampoos but only need to do one with this product.

The conditioner was the same, a thick consistency.  I was able to massage it in easily and detangled my hair without any pulling or rubbing in the conditioner.  My hair was much softer and easier to manage after drying.  The frizz was slightly less.

Volume Control V11 Treatment

I was a little put off by the length of time to leave in hair as I am a busy working mum and to have 20-30 min to spare is sometimes challenging but nonetheless I gave it a go. Well, what can I say. I totally loved this product, the thickness and creaminess was lush.  My hair felt so healthy and soft afterwards.  I have only used this once since I got it, but let me tell you, schedule time out in your diaries and get this in your hair!

I also received this sweet little soap from Suigo.  It smells divine that I almost want to eat it. The scent reminds me something from when I was younger but I cannot put my finger on it.  It was nice to wash myself with it.  My skin felt soft and had a faint residue soap smell.

I'm quite impressed with these products and have to say I quite enjoyed using them too. I like the natural colour of the products.

I already use alot of chemicals and products in my hair so I would prefer to use a shampoo and conditioner that didn't have the chemicals, colours and perfumes added to it. I am very happy that I had the opportunity to trial these amazing products without it I'm not sure if I would of gone out and bought another brand that I have never heard of.  It is definitely up there with other reputable brands like Kerastase and Redken.

Overall rating - 4.5/5

Biore Pore Strips Review

Where were you in the 80s when I was a teenager and I needed you!  I was using sticky tape back then, not sure how good that was for the skin. Sometimes my friend and I would use clear glue on our noses and peel it off when it was dry.  It was very effective back then!

I have been using Biore Pore Strips for a few years now, even though I do not have an issue with blocked pores on my nose anymore.  But occassionally my skin needs it especially in the summer when my skin is slightly more oilier than normal and my pores do get dirt in them.

Biore Strips are for cleansing pores by removing oil and blackheads.  By keeping your pores clean means your pores will stay small and less visible.

When applying the strip you need to make sure you have cleansed your face and leave the nose area damp.  Press the strip around your nose and wait for it to dry.

I recommend pulling the strip away slowly, as they dry quite tightly to the skin.  It does hurt a little, well it does for me, when I pull the strip off.  The best bit is checking out whats on it.

Biore strips are Dermatologist tested and Hypo-allergenic. They are suitable for all skin types. For best results, do not use more often than once every three days.

Biore, if your reading this, please bring a strip out out for the chin.

Overall rating - 4/5

Biore Pore Strips are available almost everywhere including Priceline.  For more information about the Biore brand click here.

Oscar Natural Shaving Gel & Shaving Oil Review

Many foams and gels contain harsh chemicals that strip protective oils from the skin, making it dry and itchy. So when I found out about Oscar products, I was very interested in having hubby trialling this brand as I'm constantly nagging him to shave and he whining in return as he hates shaving as it makes his neck and chin area irritated and sensitive.

Hubby trialled two products, the shaving gel and shaving oil.  I asked him to use both products one week each and then asked him questions.

First impressions of the product?
When applying it felt smooth on the skin, it didn't foam up as much as I would of liked.  Maybe it is just that I am used to excessive foaming with other brands.

Tell me about your experience using the gel for shaving.
The fragrance was light and pleasant and a lot better than others that I have tried. Shaving was surprisingly easier and the blade glided over much smoother than usual, which surprised me as I didn't think it would because it did not foam up as much.

How did you feel after shaving?
After shaving my skin felt refreshed and moisturised and I did not break out in any redness or rash.  Usually after shaving my skin tends to be dry and I am not a big fan of using moisturising cream or after shave lotion after shaving.  With Oscar Natural Shaving Gel I would not need to use either.

Overall impressions?
I liked it very much and will continue to use it now and in the future.  I could get used it not foaming as much.  I like that fact that it is all natural, I don't think there are products out there for men shaving that is natural.

What would you give it out of 5?
I give it 4.5/5.

First impressions of the product?
When applying it felt oily on my fingers, it was easy to apply to my face and it doesn't foam up at all.   I do not like the feeling of this one that much, I have to wash my hands thoroughly to rid of the oil so I can grip my razor securely.

Tell me about your experience using the oil for shaving.
The fragrance for the oil was also light and pleasant. Shaving was ok, I personally didn't like the oil, I like to have some visibility of the product on my face so I can be assured that the areas I'm shaving is well lubricated.

How did you feel after shaving?
After shaving my skin felt a bit greasy but smooth. My skin wasn't irritated.  As I have mentioned before I do not like using moisturisers as I find the feeling of creams and oils on my face greasy.  I personally prefer the gel over the oil.

Overall impressions?
You can feel the quality, I think this product is more suited for sculpting a beard or goatee for a more precise shaving but for me I prefer the gel.

What would you give it out of 5?
I give it 3/5.

Depending on what you prefer whether it be the gel or oil, both products are fantastic for men.  Oscar Natural Shaving Gel and Oil comes in two ranges regular and sensitive.  With quality products at an affordable price, made in Australia and 100% organic you can be reassured that you are only putting the best on your skin.

Prices start from $7.99 and for more information about Oscar products or to purchase on-line checkout  http://www.oscarnatural.com or in the following stores Priceline, The Shaver Shop, Coles, Woolworths, Foodland/IGA and yousave Chemist

Glamglow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment Review

I have read about the is product and was intrigued so I went into my local Mecca Cosmetica store and enquired about it and to my surprise they had sold out and there was a waiting list for it.  Really want it now I put my name on the waiting list.

Almost a month later I received a phone call that the product had come in. Off I went to pick up the most coveted beauty product on the market of the moment.

I couldn't wait to try it. My first thought was that it smelled good, very earthy and sort of flowery with a hint of green tea smell.

I applied the mask gently as it is exfoliating and contains volcanic ash and I didnt want to scratch or irritate my skin as I do not know if my skin would react. After a couple of minutes my skin started to feel a tingly sensation. The tingling did last for almost 10 minutes and I was starting to worry whether my skin was having a reaction but persevered until my skin started to feel tight and the mask was drying.

Once the 10 minutes was up, I washed it off with a wash cloth gently in circular motions. My cheeks were super red and very warm, they felt like I had heat packs on them. As for the rest of my face it was like WOW.

My skin felt smooth and looked lighter and brighter. Despite my cheeks feeling irritated it felt really soft.   My cheeks felt hot for a good hour and they were bright red for the rest of the day.

The following day I could still see a positive difference in my skin, the redness on my cheeks had completely disappeared and settled. I would suggest not using this mask before you get ready to go out use it on a day you decide to stay home or just before bed.

A little about the product
GlamGlow is made with sea mud from the south of France and contains volcanic rock to grind down the fine lines and wrinkles, activated charcoal to suck up the excess oil and other impurities on your skin, six different acids to add a healthy glow, and a mixture of lavender, cucumber, aloe vera, green tea leaves and peppermint to soften and moisturize.

This product is designed as a 10-minute professional ‘facial in a jar’ for immediate camera- ready glowing skin. GLAMGLOW’s mud base is from the South of France Mediterranean Sea, home to glamorous Cannes, St. Tropez & Monaco. GLAMGLOW’s moisturizing collagen synthesis is for both men & women. Use a couple of times a week or simply when you need GLAM-tastic™ skin.

The Technology
Groundbreaking patent pending TEAOXI™ is GLAMGLOW’s proprietary continuous time-release technology, delivering daily fresh Super-Squalene, EGCG Super-Antioxidants & Polyphenols direct into the mud from the real pieces of tea leaf contained in our mask. TEAOXI™ is the ‘magic’ behind our powerful anti-aging and anti wrinkle results.

Leaves skin noticeably radiant and glowing.
Activates moisturizing collagen synthesis.
Provides gentle resurfacing exfoliation.
Helps to leave skin smoother, brighter and softer.
Provides tighter skin texture and tighter pores.
Helps to provide a more youthful appearance.
Absorbs impurities without removing natural oils.
Helps to protect against free radical damage.

This has not deterred me from using this product again but I do not think I will buy it next time.  I think the product may be too active for my cheeks so the next time I use I will avoid my cheeks altogether and only apply the mask to the rest of my face and neck.

Overall rating - 3.5/5

When I was travelling around Europe I came across so many designer factory outlets that I begun having a shopping problem, yes, its called shopaholic syndrome.  Upon returning back home I ended up with two tea chest boxes filled with shoes, handbags, dresses and accessories that customs questioned me.  I quickly responded with 'how can any girl leave behind such bargains'?  I did however have to prove that almost $15,000 worth of goods only costed me a mere $2,000 and that they fit me and were all my size and no repeated pairs and they were all unique items; luckily I had all my receipts in my handbag.  I was drawing a crowd of custom officers who were amused; when I look back I had 2 tea chest boxes being examined, full of designer gear, was a little exaggerated.  I was very fortunate that I did not have to pay any tax.  I think they must of seen the passion in my eyes for my wonderful goodies.

Anyway fastforward several years I do realise I was extremely lucky withmy  extraordinary finds at such ridiculously low prices and able to bring them into the country.

I've travelled overseas a couple of times since and researched the area I was going to find out if there were any outlets there, I found it extremely difficult to find any information about outlets.  So many of these amazing stores are best kept secrets and are difficult to locate unless you knew someone who knew the locations or befriended a local.

More and more secrets are being broadcasted on the internet but I still cannot find good resources when it comes to finding designer factory outlets.  So I decided to write some posts on the best factory outlets in the world, I will search high and low and will do my best in providing them all.  Their address, brands and opening hours.
